Large Grants
Large Grants offer up to $25,000 to help organizations find ways to build climate resilience in their communities by preventing or preparing for climate impacts, such as extreme heat, wildfire smoke, hail, extreme precipitation, high winds, droughts, flooding and shifting seasons. These grants will support projects that engage the community and contribute to a more equitable and climate resilient future.

Important Dates

Who Can apply
Registered organizations, including non-profits, charities and community-minded organizations, can apply for ClimateReadyYYC large grants.
Eligible Project Criteria & Expenses
- Help communities or vulnerable groups adapt to specific climate issues or hazards.
- Help communities or vulnerable groups to take initiatives to reduce or present the emission of green house gases via use of clean source of energy, alternative modes of transportation or increasing vegetation cover.
- Engage the community by developing knowledge, resources or programming about climate resilience.
- Involve community collaboration or co-creation.
- Demonstrate sustainable impacts on the community or its residents.

There are three ways to apply:
- Fill out an online application.
- Download the PDF application and email it to pooja@calgarycommunities.com
- Call Pooja, our Community Grant Implementor, at 403-244-4111 ext. 227 and she will help you fill out an application.
After the Application
Climate change affects everyone! Help us build a supportive and resilient community by sharing your climate project stories and ideas! Tag @FedYYC and use #ClimateReadyYYC.
After the application deadline, our ClimateReadyYYC Grant Committee will review all the applications. We may reach out to you if we have any questions or would like more information on your project. Typically, we will contact you with the status of your application one month after applications close.
All grant recipients will work with our Community Grant Implementor to make your project a reality.
This is reimbursement grant. Organizations must submit a final report and complete financial documents, including receipts and proof of purchase, to the Community Grant Implementor. Once this documentation is submitted and received, reimbursement cheques will be issued at the end of the month.
Recipients will also be asked to complete a final report at the end of their project. You can view a sample report here.
