Rink & Outdoor Lighting Application

Make your residents feel safe and welcome in your community spaces with energy-efficient Outdoor/Rink Lighting. Whether it’s replacing existing lights around your community rink, adding security lights to your entrance and pathways or bringing light to your community garden, apply for up to $10,000 to add or replace outdoor lighting around your community hub.

Important Dates

Before You apply

  • You may apply for up to $10,000 for rink and security lighting.
  • New security lighting requests will be considered. However, replacing EXISTING lighting will be given priority.
  • Gas lighting is not eligible for this grant.
  • You must use the Federation's chosen contractor. No cash substitute will be available.
  • You may only apply for one of these three grant streams per year: Appliances, Rink/Outdoor Lighting, or String Lighting

How to apply

You can apply for up to 100% of the cost of your project to a maximum of $10,000 per application.

  1. Lead contact person’s information
  2. Organization’s information
  3. Written board approval to participate in Energizing Spaces powered by ENMAX.
  4. The type, wattage, and number of your old light bulbs (if replacing)
  5. Photos of your old lighting or area where new lighting would be installed.
  6. A copy of your most recent financial statements.
  7. Describe how your community will benefit.
 
Please note: We DO NOT require a quote from an electrician. We’ve contracted Acre Electric to provide quotes for shortlisted projects, and they will also be contracted to do the installation work for approved projects.

After the Application

The selection committee will send you a letter to inform you of the status of your application. All shortlisted projects will be reviewed by

  1. Once you have a signed grant agreement, we will arrange for Acre Electric to install the new lighting in your spaces.
  2. Tell us how your new appliance(s) are impacting your community! Send us a photo of the appliance, and 3-5 photos of a program or activity that has benefited from the appliance.
