Sherwood is one of five communities in the Symons Valley Area, located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary. It bounded by Sarcee Trail to the west, Stoney trail to the south, Shaganappi trail to the east, and Symons Valley Park Way to the north. Neighboring communities include Nolan Hill, Kincora, and Hamptons. The community is represented by the Ward 2 Calgary City Council. The Sherwood Community Association was established in 2008 by a group of volunteer residents to create community led events around the year. The most popular event in the community is the annual summer Multicultural Festival. They have introduced a new community garden set to open in 2017.
