The community of Dalhousie is in Calgary’s northwest. It is bordered by John Laurie Boulevard in the North, Shaganappi Trail in the East, Crowchild Trail in the South and Sarcee Trail in the West. With Nose Hill Park to the south, Dalhousie residents have easy access through the city’s pathway system. The Dalhousie area was annexed by the city in 1961 and developed in 1967. It is close to regional shopping centres as well as the University of Calgary and SAIT. There are both public and separate schools in the area. Our events include Farmers’ Markets, concerts, magic shows, gardening classes, workshops, presentations, the Winter Carnival, and the Sip & Savour Beer, Wine & Spirits Festival, among others. The DCA also provides facility room rentals for events such as weddings, parties, dance classes, markets, concerts, church services, fitness classes, workshops, and camps. We offer a variety of programs for all ages, including Preschool, After School Programs, and Summer Day Camps. The Dalhousie Community Centre is a vibrant space that serves as a hub for community involvement and engagement. The DCA also offers many partner programs such as Kindergarten, fitness classes (Dance, Yoga, Karate, Zumba, and Tai Chi), music programs (choir and voice lessons), painting, hobby and craft clubs, Weight Watchers, Girl Guides, Intro to 4-H, Mommy Connections, and bi-weekly concerts with the Calgary Folk Club.
