Citadel residents can now be able to enjoy their community hall for years to come thanks to a recent renovation project. With the support of a Lloyd Sadd Action Grant, the Citadel Community Association was able to add wainscotting to the exterior walls of their busy hall.
The Citadel Community Hall is a high-traffic area, hosting various programs and events that require the constant moving of furniture and equipment. This constant activity was causing wear and tear on the walls, and the new wainscotting provides a proactive solution to help prevent further damage. The new panels protect the walls from scuffs and bumps, ensuring the space remains vibrant and well-maintained.
Beyond just protecting the hall, the wainscotting has an added bonus: it helps with acoustics. The large, multi-use space previously had an echo that made it challenging to host events. The addition of the wood panels has helped to dampen the sound, making the hall a more enjoyable and functional space for everyone.
The Citadel Community Association’s thoughtful use of the Lloyd Sadd Action Grant ensures their hall remains a welcoming and protected space for all residents to enjoy.
