About Our Get Engaged! Newsletter

Get Engaged! is the Federation of Calgary Communities’ bi-weekly e-newsletter, publishing a minimum of 20 issues annually and reaching more than 2,100 subscribers across Calgary’s non-profit and community sectors.

Get Engaged! offers advertisers direct access to an engaged audience of leadership volunteers and community decision-makers. Our readership is deeply connected to local neighbourhood initiatives, community programming, and non-profit operations.

We offer low-cost advertising opportunities designed to support Calgary’s grassroots non-profits and community-based organizations. Advertising space is available on a first-come, first-served basis and depends on space available in each issue. If your preferred publication dates are unavailable, we will contact you to arrange alternate dates. To keep content fresh and relevant for our audience, the same ad cannot run in more than three consecutive issues. All content is reviewed and approved by the Federation, and we reserve the right to curate content to best meet the needs of our members. How it Works

  1. Choose your option and fill out the advertising request form below.  All content MUST be submitted at least 7 business days before the preferred publication date.

We will ask you for:

  • Short title/hook (max. 80 characters w/ spaces)
  • 35-75 word write up
  • (Optional) PNG or JPEG Image (min 600 under 150KB)
  • Link to your preferred landing page
 
  1. Our team will review your content and contact you to confirm your submission.
  2. Once approved, you will receive an electronic invoice.
  3. Once payment is received, your ad will be drafted (as per our newsletter format) and sent to you for review. It will be published in the next edition of Get Engaged! Or the agreed upon issue.

Payment options

There are two payment options available:

You will recieve a digital invoice. Through the invoice, you will be able to pay directly through our online portal with your MasterCard or Visa. A 2.4% transaction fee will apply.

After you recieve our digital invoice, you can e-transfer the total invoice amount (including GST) to payment@calgarycommunites.com referencing the invoice number.

Submitting Editorial Content

We welcome industry experts to submit editorial content for consideration. We reserve the right to edit content for clarity, tone, and length. Submission does not guarantee publication. Contributors are responsible for content accuracy and appropriate permissions. Submissions should be based on credible, up-to-date sources, particularly when including statistics, research, or factual claims, and may be subject to verification. We reserve the right to request sources, edit content for clarity or accuracy, or remove unsubstantiated claims.

Members receive two free ads per year and can submit content at any time. Select the “basic advertisement” option, select “Member” and enter your advertisement information as usual. If you would like to use both advertising slots for the same content, please leave a note in the comments section. If you have reached your free Ad limit for the year, we will contact you before any ads are published.

Member Ads must promote the programs, services, etc. of the member organization. They cannot be used to promote a third party.

Yes. We will do our best to accommodate all date requests. However, inclusion in the newsletter is subject to availability on a first come first serve basis. If you require a specific date that is unavailable, we will contact you to see about alternative dates. If no alternative date works for both parties, we will not invoice the ad request.

Our mandate is to support grassroots non-profits. To do so, we offer low-cost advertising options that help local organizations promote their programs, services, and events. Our pricing structure reflects this commitment.

Yes. You can submit 3 different ads for the same campaign, or if you have three different events, promotions or services that you would like to promote, you can submit three different ads for review.

Yes. If you want to advertise to all community associations in Calgary directly, you can purchase our Community Contact Listing, which provides a list of community associations, and their direct contact information.

Alternatively, if you would like to advertise to specific community associations in your area, you can use our free “Find My Community Association” tool on our website to locate community associations in a particular geographical area.
