Before You apply

  • You may apply for any number of ENERGY STAR appliances, up to $10,000.
  • You must be able to pay up front, and be reimbursed for expenses.
  • You many only apply for one of these three grant streams per year: Appliances, Rink/Outdoor Lighting, or String Lighting

Criteria for Appliances

  • Only ENERGY STAR appliances are eligible for this grant. We cannot reimburse appliances that do not meet this requirement.
  • Pre-purchased appliances are not eligible for this grant. Appliances MUST NOT be purchased until funds are awarded.
  • Any electrical appliance is eligible, regardless of appliance type or location.
  • Natural Gas appliances are not eligible for this grant.
  • Appliances over 10 years old will get priority.
  • New appliance applications will be considered. However, replacing old appliances will be given priority.
  • You can select the appliance that works best for your organization, as long as it is labeled ENERGY STAR.
  • Both industrial and home appliance types are eligible.

How to apply

You can apply for up to 100% of the cost of your project to a maximum of $10,000 per application.

Get two quotes for the same model of each EnergyStar appliance you are applying for. Please ensure that you are getting quotes for EnergyStar appliances.

  1. Lead contact person’s information
  2. Organization’s information
  3. Written board approval to participate in Energizing Spaces powered by ENMAX.
  4. Two quotes that states the total cost and type of appliance(s) you wish to purchase. You will do this for each requested appliance.
  5. Photos of your old appliances (if applicable)
  6. A copy of your most recent financial statements.
  7. Describe how your community will benefit.

After the Application

The selection committee will send you a letter to inform you of the status of your application. Do not purchase your appliance(s) until you have received a signed grant agreement.

  1. Once you have a signed grant agreement, purchase your appliance(s). 
  2. Submit your receipts & proof of purchase. We reimburse all submitted receipts at the end of each month.
  3. Tell us how your new appliance(s) are impacting your community! Send us a photo of the appliance, and 3-5 photos of a program or activity that has benefited from the appliance.
