Led by local resident, Max Webber, the Southwood Community Association painted a suburban intersection in their neighborhood to slow traffic and engage citizens. Over the course of Neighbour Day, they painted the road, played games, and built a sense of community.
“I saw neighbours who lived just houses away from each other, introduce themselves for the first time at the painting event. I also saw the kids have the opportunity to make a change in their neighborhood. Everyone who painted seemed engaged and happy to join in. Apart from traffic safety I think the sense of community was the most impactful outcome of the day.” – Max Webber
