- Summer 2024
Homespace Society received an ActivateYYC grant to brighten up a courtyard within their Norris House property in the community of Seton. The inner courtyard space of the housing property was an active space used by local children riding their bikes, scooters, and playing soccer on the greenspace. HomeSpace Society wanted to ensure that the area was safe to use for children, and reflected the joy they brought to the place.
HomeSpace brought together volunteers from Rumi, UrbanCSA, and residents from the buildings, to add bright crosswalks, road thinning traffic calming measures, and polka dots hand printed with hands of children living in the complex. The volunteers also set up a badminton net for the space.
