What are Navacord Action Grants?
Navacord Action Grants (formerly Lloyd Sadd Action Grants) are small barrier free micro grants, up to $1,000 each, that are designed to help you re-engage with your residents, as you see fit.
Recipients are selected randomly from all applications at our Action Grants Awards Night Event. You must attend Awards Night to be eligible to receive an Action Grant.
You can use an Action Grant for almost anything that you can think of as long as it benefits your community. It could be a long-standing need, a fun event, programming support or something else entirely! Check out these stories and application ideas from past applicants!

Action Grant Awards Night
Hosted mid-November each year, Action Grants Awards Night is a special evening of sharing, networking, and awarding $7,000 in Navacord Action Grants! Everyone is welcome, but grant applicants must attend the Awards Night event to be eligible.

Eligibility
- Be a member of the Federation of Calgary Communities
- Submit an application with an ask up to $1,000
- Attend our Awards Night Event
- Agree to submit photos, a short story of impact and your reciepts (if your organization wins)
How To Apply
Anything is possible! This grant aims to reduce barriers and help our members engage their community. You may only submit one application per year, and your “ask” must be $1,000 or less.
All eligible submissions will be equally considered. Winners will be selected by random draw at the Awards Event.
All grant applicants MUST attend the awards event to be eligible for a chance to win! Applicants are automatically registered for this event, but everyone is welcome to attend. Event details below.
Enjoy a chance to connect with your peers and explore different ways to connect with your community.
Multiple winners will be drawn randomly from all eligible entries at the event. We have $7,000 to grant to communities.
All Federation members are welcome to attend Awards night, even if they have not applied for an Action Grant.
All winners will selected on Awards Night, and recieve a formal notification email within 7 days of the event.
Once your project is complete, please:
- Submit photos, and a short story about what your community did with their grant.
- Submit your receipts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Only active paid members are eligible for this grant opportunity.
If your organization applied for a Navacord Action Grant, a representative of your organization MUST be present at the Awards Night event for your organization to be eligible for the grant.
Any representative can attend Awards Night on your organization’s behalf. Whomever attends should be prepared to share who your organization is, and what you applied for.

There is no grant committee. We do not evalutate applications beyond the above eligibility requirements. Recipients are randomly selected from all eligible applications at our Awards Night event.

Yes! Awards Night is open to all Federation Members, and is a great opportunity to connect, network and build community outside of your organization. We’ve seen some amazing connections made during Awards Night.
