Glendale Community Association used an ActivateYYC grant to design and install a nature-inspired ground mural on the street between the school field and the community association grounds. Glendale Community Association partnered with local artist Jessica Semenoff and students from Glendale Elementary School to bring whimsy to a shared public space. Semenoff, known for her depictions of native plants in the places she paints, designed a mural of local floral and fauna. Semenoff also drew inspiration from over 100 drawings created by the students at the school.
The project transformed the street into a vibrant, space. After the mural was completed, the project generated a buzz across the community, with residents wandering to the site to see the new artwork.
