On June 23, 2018, The Mandala Project turned a dead-end road into a work of art. The Mandala mural was painted in Hounsfield Heights/Briar Hill, where a road ends and a walking trail begins. The mural is a perfect attraction for a walking path, as it promotes creativity and a new space to meet neighbours. This project is a beautiful addition to the community, and one that everyone can enjoy.

A local artist and several volunteers donated their time to help bring The Mandala to life. A Street Use Permit is needed for projects like this, and artwork approval from The City is also needed. A mural of this size uses quite a bit of paint, so a portion of the $770 provided by ActivateYYC was used to cover the cost of paint and supplies.
