Background

The Calgary Pathway and Bikeway Implementation Plan was developed in 2000. It is being updated to reflect changes in our city. Many of the pathways and bikeways proposed in the initial plan have been built, while some of the proposed connections are obsolete because of changes to the road network or approved developments. Also, new approved policies impact the current plan.

The updated plan will provide a proposed city-wide network of pathways and bikeways. It will become the framework that developers and City planners use to seamlessly connect Calgarians to the places they want to go. It will also include a digital map that is easy to access and update.

We are beginning phase two of engagement for the project. Engagement during this phase will consist of drop-in sessions for targeted stakeholder groups, as well as pop-up events and an online survey that all Calgarians are welcome to participate in.

Survey

The online survey will be available on engage.calgary.ca/pathwaybikeway from May 15 until June 8, 2018.

Events

The details for our pop-up events are as follows:

We are also coordinating drop-in sessions for clients of the Drop-in Centre, the Kerby Centre and the Women’s Centre, and focused sessions with children attending City Hall School.
