Get social with your peers on December 6 Community Socials is a new event offering that we launched in the summer that gives you the opportunity to take a night off from formal workshops and simply get social with your fellow community peers – share experiences and learn from each other. There’s no agenda, just casual networking over tasty snacks! Our second Community Socials is taking place on Wednesday, December 6 from 6:30-8:30pm at Paper Street downtown. Click here to register today.

Don’t forget that on the first Monday of every month we extend our office hours until 9:00pm so that you can stop by in the evening to see us! Our next Mingle will be next Monday, December 4. Nod to Neighbour Initiative in Tuscany – a great way to build community!

Have you heard of Tuscany Community Association’s Nod to a Neighbour Initiative? It’s a campaign started by the community association recognize neighbours who are doing who are doing positive things in the community. Launched earlier this month, neighbours are encouraged to head to the Tuscany Community Association Facebook page and nominate someone using the hashtag #nodtoaneighbour. The stories are then shared on social media and those great neighbours are given a gift. You can follow the stories by clicking on the heading to twitter or Facebook and looking up the hashtag or email hello@tuscanyca.org for more info.

 Community Representation Framework Update 
The work of the Community Representation Framework (CRF) is still “a work in progress”. We hoped that we would understand a bit more about a “proposed” model at this point, however, at our meeting on November 15 the committee was unable to land. Read more here.

Calling all Calgarians: is there a person or a business in your community that you feel is bringing joy to others? Cannabis Survey 
The City has released a survey on cannabis legalization focusing on rules required for businesses operating within the municipality, rules relating to public consumption, and other issues at the municipal level.

It’s not too late to be part of the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Food Drive in support of the Calgary Food Bank! Contact Tara to get your Calgary Food Bank donation boxes and make a difference for those in need this Christmas.

  2. PIP- SDAB on Dec 9th Sign up for our PIP core course on the Subdivision and Appeal Board. This is the last core course that we offer for 2017.
  3. City  of Calgary introduces new Community Engagement Resource: The City of Calgary has released a new resource for builders or owners to understand when and how to engage with residents, neighbours and community associations on small residential construction projects such as secondary suites, contextuals and more.  Click to see the resource.
