March Community Association Awareness Month is here! We are working all month-long to educate Calgarians on what a community association is, what they offer, and how to get involved. Click here to check out our webpage and click here to watch us on Global News talking about this month-long event.

We’re very excited to announce that we’ve started work a collaborative project with the United Way and researchers from the University of Calgary and University of Lethbridge that will look at the impact of income inequality on participation in community life. This project will form a small piece of the Canada-wide Neighborhood Change Research Partnership. To find out more email Dan.

The Energizing Spaces Fund is back! 2016 will have two rounds of applications with deadlines on April 1 and September 30. This year will also accept applications for LED lighting upgrades for facilities and outdoor ice rinks. Click here for more info or to apply today!

Our next Orientation to the Planning Process workshop is coming up on March 15. We’re trying out a daytime workshop this time, from 10am-12pm. Join us and learn the basics of Calgary’s planning system with other community association members. We will also have time for discussion and questions.

Need a brush-up on the City of Calgary’s “Tree Protection Bylaws?” One of our community associations recently found this information helpful, so we thought it would be a good reminder to circulate! Please contact the City if you have any questions. Full details can be found here.
