March is Community Association Awareness Month!

How will YOU be part of it?

All month long we will be sharing stories, ideas, questions, photos, and more using the hashtag #howillYOUbepartofit. We invite you to take part in showcasing the wonderful work being done in our community association network by not only sharing our posts but also posting your own using the hashtag! Energizing Spaces Deadline March 31
The round one application deadline to replace your old appliances or outdoor lighting is March 31. Applications can be filled out online here. Don't forget to include photos and TWO detailed price quotes!

Soul of the City Neighbour Grants
Grants of $10,000 so that Calgarians can put into action their idea to improve, enhance, or revitalize their community or neighbourhood. Five winning applications will be awarded a $10,000 Soul of the City Neighbour Grant and the opportunity to share their project story with the community. The deadline is March 15.

Food & Yard Waste
On November 1, 2017 your organization will be required to separate food and yard waste from the garbage, for composting or diversion. To learn how you can do this and what support there is for you, register for the Business Food & Yard Waste Info Session. Click HERE for details.

Best of Calgary
Visit from now until early April to register you votes for the Best of Calgary 2017. Sign up for the newsletter to get survey updates and for information on Best of Calgary Ideas Week coming to the city in late May.

Neighbour Day 2017
This year's event will take place on Saturday, June 17. Visit the Neighbour Day website for helpful information and resources to start your planning early!

Jane's Walk Workshop
Follow in Jane Jacob’s footsteps by leading Jane’s Walk in May. First steps? In partnership with the City of Calgary and The Calgary Foundation is hosting a free “How to” workshop on March 15, that will provide the step-by-step instructions on leading a Jane’s Walk in your neighbourhood! Great Storytelling Inspires Change
Join the Calgary Foundation for Great Storytelling Inspires Change – a FREE workshop focusing on video in collaboration on Tuesday, March 28 at the U of C Downtown campus. This half-day workshop will give you the tools to identify what stories exist within your organization, translate your stories into compelling videos and equip you with simple ways to film and edit on a budget. Healthy Eating & Active Living Symposia
Join Communities ChooseWell on March 22 & 23 for a Provincial Symposia where you’ll be inspired by influential leaders in health promotion, while connecting and engaging with other advocates working to address healthy eating and active living in Alberta.
