Join us for our first annual Bowls, Beers, Bites Lawn Bowling Tournament presented by Toole Peet Insurance on August 9! Bowls, Beers, Bites is replacing our Chip in Fore Communities golf tournament, but will still help us raise money to continue supporting community organizations, their hardworking volunteers, and all they do to make Calgary a great place to live, work, and play! Calgary Foundation’s Vital Signs Survey
Each year, Calgary Foundation allocates nearly $50 million of funding to help build a better future for our city. Calgary’s Vital Signs survey is your chance to share your perspective and help us affect the areas that matter most, including community connections, living standards, wellness, and arts. Click here to take the survey. The survey closes June 27.

Neighbour Day Rebate
Its not too late to collect your receipts for our Village Brewery Neighbour Day rebate! From June 1-30, any Calgary community association can collect Village receipts and submit a claim form to receive a 15% rebate! Click here for more information or to find the claim form.
Thrilling Energy Efficiency Education
Open Streets Calgary is a non-profit organization that offers energy efficiency education through fun-filled activities for kids and adults. It’s easy to experience power generation and learn how much electricity we use on a daily basis by pedaling on one of their fender generators. Their programming can be with or without their staff, while letting you offer your guests the thrill of charging devices, comparing LED versus incandescent light bulbs, blending drinks and powering speakers. Connect with them at animate@openstreetscalgary.com if you want people to power your events.
Solar PV Rebate for Community Associations.
We have recently confirmed with the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) that funding is still available, and applications are still being accepted for the Solar PV rebate for up to 30% of project cost. An energy utility company is also offering to finance the remaining portion for a very low interest rate which will be repaid by the monthly savings from the Solar PV system. This means zero out of pocket upfront payment from community associations. Contact our Energy Manager, Adeniyi, at energy@calgarycommunities.com for more details.
Boland Survey
We have worked with CCVO to add some job descriptions to the Boland Survey that better reflect some of the jobs in community organizations. If every member organization entered their employee compensation data, imagine how rich this resource would be for our network! Click here to enter your data today or to find more information. The cost for up to five employees is $150.
Here are a few highlights from our urban planning world this month. Be sure to check our blog for a complete listing of recent events and updates!
