Don’t Forget About the Village Beer Rebate!
In celebration of Neighbour Day, we have partnered with our buds at Village Brewery again this year to offer community associations a rebate on all beer purchases made throughout the month of June! What does this mean? When any Calgarian purchases Village beer anytime between June 1st to 30th, and gives a copy of their receipt to their local community association, the organization will get a 15% rebate on all beer purchases made throughout the month. As community associations you can also join in and use your beer purchases as part of the rebate! Village Brewery is always happy to work with community associations to provide you with beer for your summer events, and is flexible in helping work within your budget. Click here for more info.

We’re Published!
We wrote an article for the SPEAK issue of Moments, a magazine providing event planning ideas and inspiration for anyone planning or promoting events for their business or organization. Our article is called “Creating Community and Conversations.” It talks about how to create an event environment that encourages people to connect and learn from each other. Check it out here! We’re on page 20-21.

Contribute to the Boland Survey
For over 20 years, non-profit HR professionals, executive directors, CEOs, and board members have looked to the Boland Survey for annual data on salary trends, benefits, recruitment, development, and best practices to make informed HR decisions. The Boland Survey now has added four new positions focusing on Community Association staff. Click here to submit your organization’s salary and benefit info before August 31st. Regional reports will be released on November 1st.

We Want Your

Beware of Fraudulent Emails

A couple of organizations have reached out to us stating that they have been receiving fraudulent emails that look extremely legit. For example, an email from the president’s email address to the treasurer’s asking for a transfer of funds. Please check these emails about money transfers very carefully and be extra cautious. If you do get these emails or have questions about them please reach out to your Calgary Police Service Community Resource Officer (CRO).

Here are a few highlights from our urban planning world this month – be sure to check our planning updates for a complete listing of recent events and updates.
