Launching its new initiative this month, ActivateYYC 2.0 will take on shortcuts, catwalks, mazes, and mews as a focus, with grants awarded up to $1600! We are joining forces with Sustainable Calgary, The Calgary Foundation, and The City of Calgary to help Calgarian’s reimagine these spaces across their communities as places of greater activity, community, and connection! Do you have a great idea for transforming a shortcut? Do you want to get involved in your community? Do you want to bring your neighbours together for a fun project? World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day! Elder abuse is a complex social and health issue that can happen to anyone and affects everyone. The “Coordinated Community Response to Elder Abuse” Action Team in Calgary has published a brochure to help people identify the signs of elder abuse and where to find help. The brochure is available in many languages. For the brochure and more about support available click here.
Calgary Foundation Vital Signs Survey 2019
Your perspective only matters if you share it. Each year, Calgary Foundation allocates nearly $50 million of funding to help build a better future for our city. Calgary’s Vital Signs survey is your chance to share your perspective and help affect the areas that matter most, including community connections! Click here to learn more or to take the survey! Survey closes June 27.

Free training and career opportunities for youth!
NPower Canada has opened a new training centre in Calgary! NPower Canada is a charitable organization that launches underserved young adults into meaningful and sustainable careers. This 15 week program provides youth ages 18-29 with free in-demand digital and professional skills training and connects them to new and rewarding career opportunities with some of Canada’s largest employers. The next program starts in September! To find out more about the program click here, or contact Mehreen at mehreen.kapadia@npowercanda.ca.
Water education partners and youth programs

Register your team
Bowls, Beers, Bites presented by Toole Peet Insurance is the perfect opportunity to bond with your board and get to know other Calgary community association peeps over a couple of games of lawn bowling, drinks, and tasty food! Awesome prizes will be given for bowling winners, the most “honest” team, fantastic foursome, and more! Click here to register your team of four.
Boland Survey
Do you ever wonder if you are properly compensating your employees? We have worked with CCVO to add some job descriptions to the Boland Survey that better reflect some of the jobs in community organizations. If every member organization entered their employee compensation data, imagine how rich this resource would be for our network! The cost for up to five employees is $150. Click here to enter your data today or to find more information.
