FREE Workshop: Impacts of Intergenerational Trauma with Tim Rice from the Calgary Foundation
Are you interested in expanding your Indigenous knowledge? If so, register for this free workshop hosted by the Banff Trail Community Association on January 20th. This workshop will touch on the current realities facing Indigenous communities, and increase awareness of the need for cultural support. It will also explore how historical processes and policies continue to have an effect on Indigenous People, and provide ways participants can heal together. Canada Summer Jobs Program: Applications Now Open to Employers!
You can hire a summer student to help your community organization! Canada Summer Jobs program pairs students (aged 15-30) for summer positions with small businesses, non-profits, and public sector organizations for quality (and paid) learning experiences. Not-for-profit employers can receive up to 100% of the provincial/territorial minimum hourly wage and mandatory employment-related costs. Learn more here.
My Canada, My Story

My Canada My Story is a campaign which encourages Canadians to share their story of what Canada means to you and what you want the future of Canada to look like. Persons that submit their story before February 2018 are eligible to win a $500 Visa gift card. Learn more here.

Take Action Grants
Issued through Calgary Dollars, Take Action Grants (TAG) were created to support non-profit local, social and environmental justice granting up to $2,000 in 50% CDN$ and Calgary Dollars complementary currency. This grassroots grant does not require non-profit status. For more info about the grant and the application process click here.
Outdoor Rinks: Mid-Season Forum
What is the best equipment you can use to build and maintain your outdoor rink? How can you recruit more rink volunteers? What precautionary measures should you take to safeguard your community rink from liability? Join City of Calgary staff, industry experts, and volunteers from other community associations and adopt-a-rinks to learn how to optimize your outdoor rink operations on Thursday, January 18th. Muttart Foundation Bursary Programs
The Muttart Foundation has two bursary programs open to registered charities working in the social service field. This bursary program allows charities to apply for funding to allow their staff members to attend courses offered through publicly funded educational institutions or non-profit organizations. They also sometimes look at providing support to allow staff members to attend conferences that relate to their work at the organization. Click here for more information.
