          February 11, 2016

As many of you are aware, the Future of Community-Building Scoping Study went to the SPC on February 3. For those that haven’t had the time to follow this issue, it is not just about CA/RA relationships or land allocation in new communities, but also the notion of CA’s having a voice in planning.  The morning led to some great discussion about the roles of CA and RA organizations in building community. Judging from Council’s feedback, sounds like we’ll be more involved going forward, so we will keep you posted. Please contact us at if you have any ideas or comments on this work!

To help you with your planning basics, we are giving each community association one (1) set of planning cue cards! A letter has been sent to all presidents and planners. Please contact Carrie at engageinplanning@calgarycommunities.ca for more information. What are planning cue cards? Click here to find out!

We are looking for individuals to join our Board of Directors! Want to contribute to a cause you care about in a strategic, big picture manner, expand your network, and impact the broader Calgary community? If so, apply today! Deadline is April 30.

Website, Facebook, Twitter, community newsletter … so many communication tools, and so little time! Come out to our workshop on February 24 to learn how to use them all effectively and what information is best suited for each.

We’re in the process of scheduling a follow-up session, so keep your eyes open for information here and at imaginefairview.wordpress.com
