Holiday Office Closure

Our offices will be closed for the holidays as of Monday, December 18 and we will reopen on Tuesday, January 2. Get Engaged will be back on January 10. From all of us at the Federation, we wish you and your families a very happy holidays!

Calling for Volunteers for Cork Connection

CIWA Daughters’ Day Awards
Nominations are now open for Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) Daughters’ Day Awards. Do you know a girl or young woman who is 12-29 years old and lives in Calgary? CLIP Survey of Newcomers
The Calgary Local Immigration Partnership (CLIP) has been funded by Immigration, Refugees, & Citizenship Canada and the Alberta Human Rights Commission to carry out this survey to better understand why Calgarians who were born outside of Canada access or don’t access Canadian settlement services in their migration process. Regardless of how long ago you migrated to Canada or your current immigration status, immigrants who have not accessed settlement services are an understudied group, particularly in Calgary!!!

Help Youth Central gain valuable research!
Please Share! Youth Central is collecting data on youth (12-18) views and understanding of philanthropy in community. The survey takes less than 10 minutes and will help them better understand youth in Calgary. Youth who fill out the survey  have a chance to win some prizes including a $500 grand prize!   1. City of Calgary Cannabis Legalization Survey: The City has released a survey on cannabis legalization focusing on rules required for businesses operating within the municipality, rules relating to public consumption, and other issues at the municipal level.
  2. Community Members for Infill report: We are also looking for community volunteers with a strong understanding of infill development to be part of a city led working group for infills. Please read more to see the criteria and send in your interest.
  3. City  of Calgary introduces new Community Engagement Resource: The City of Calgary has released a new resource for builders or owners to understand when and how to engage with residents, neighbours and community associations on small residential construction projects such as secondary suites, contextuals and more.  Click to see the resource.
