SOCAN Developments 
There have been new developments regarding SOCAN and Re:Sound music licencing and compliance. In July 2019, SOCAN and Re:Sound came together and formed a joint venture called Entandem, merely to streamline compliance for you and simplify the process. For any organizations, facility-based or otherwise, who require a license to play music – either for your own programs or events, or on behalf of third party groups renting space from you – please make sure you read up on the new developments by clicking here.

Exciting new addition to Energizing Spaces Fund
This year ENMAX has grown the Energizing Spaces program to include energy efficient upgrades! Not only can you continue to apply for grant money to upgrade old appliances and outside rink or safety lighting, you can now apply for funding to replace items that create energy inefficiencies within your building. Calgary Foundation’s Jane’s Walk
Jane’s Walk is a weekend of free, locally-led walking tours inspired by legendary urban activist Jane Jacobs, in which people get together to explore, talk about and celebrate their neighbourhoods. Communities are only as strong as the people who build them and Calgary Foundation wants your help! They are currently recruiting walk leaders for this year’s Jane’s Walk weekend on May 1-2-3. Anyone can lead a walk, because everyone is an expert on the place where they live! 1. Partners in Planning
Last chance to register for our upcoming Partners in Planning course “Planning Implementation.” Join us as we learn about the Land Use Bylaw and other factors that can affect design and the built form. This Saturday February 8, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We also have an optional introduction session to the Guidebook for Great Communities.

2. Greenline Stage One Update
Last week, members from the Green Line presented an updated Stage 1 alignment Green Line LRT route to City Council. The revised plan will help address construction risk, cost and customer experience concerns on the project. Visit the link above to provide comments on the updated alignment.

3. Short-term Rentals
Do you own a short-term rental? On February 1, 2020, Council approved changes to the Business Licence Bylaw, now you require a business licence to run a short-term rental. This will help to protect the ability of homeowners to earn additional income off their properties. 4. Calgary’s New Event Centre
