Record Breaking Mayor’s Food Drive
A record breaking campaign total of $1,269,263 in food and funds was raised through the Mayor’s Christmas Food Drive for the Calgary Food Bank this year! Our community network collected 3,404 pounds of food and raised $7,603 in funds, at 22 participating locations. Thanks to organizations and individuals efforts across Calgary, this past December, the Calgary Food Bank was able to distribute over 8,000 emergency food hampers, feeding over 20,000 Calgarians!

1. Community Planning Exchange-Next Generation Planning in Calgary
Have you wondered how the Updated Municipal Development Plan, Guidebook, Multi-Community Local Area Plans (also known as District Plans) and Established Areas Growth and Change are connected and will guide how planning and development will evolve in our city? Then this workshop is for you. Come learn about how these different projects will change how we plan our city. If you are unable to join us, you can join the workshop online via ZOOM. 2. Partners in Planning
Join us on March 14 as we learn how citizens can actively participate in the planning process. This course will include topics like the role of formal decision-making bodies (i.e. Council and Calgary Planning Commission), how and when to provide feedback on an application, and making the most of engagement opportunities. 3. Greenline Open House Dates
On January 29, members from the Green Line presented an updated Stage 1 alignment Green Line LRT route to City Council. There are several open house sessions and pop-ups scheduled over the next few weeks, please click the link above to find a time and location. 4. Short-term Rentals
Do you own a short-term rental? On February 1, 2020, Council approved changes to the Business Licence Bylaw, now you require a business licence to run a short-term rental. This will help to protect the ability of homeowners to earn additional income off their properties. 5. Calgary’s New Event Centre
