Why local volunteers and businesses are stepping up to support this annual event

On Friday, August 24, the Federation of Calgary Communities will welcome 100+ community minded people to The Canal at Delacour Golf Club for their 6th Annual Chip in Fore Communities Golf Tournament.

“Chip in Fore Communities is our favourite golf tournament to attend. Unlike most, it’s focus is on having fun, and it is a ton of fun! I always look forward to spending the day with those who care about the health of our neighbourhoods. It’s a great way to make new connections over a great game of golf,” says long-term tournament player Cynthia Dakin.

Often in a supportive role, the tournament is a chance for the Federation to experience a helping hand.

Inglewood Servus Credit Union Branch Manager Marlene Mullinger says, “the Federation plays a vital role in Calgary as a resource and support agency for community associations and not-for-profits.”

She and the entire Servus team have been long-term event sponsors. Mullinger explains that “relationships with community leaders are important to our business. Building resilient and prosperous communities is one of our primary objectives, something we share with The Federation.” Chip in Fore Communities gives Servus that chance to connect with the people making a difference in their backyards.

If you would like to take part in the event, registration is open online until August 20. Individual player costs are $160 and a discounted $600 for a team of four. Fees include lunch, dinner, a cart, swag items, and the chance to win over 40 prizes worth more than $10,000!
