In November 2021, The City of Calgary declared a Climate Emergency in support of accelerated action to respond to climate change and to recognize the pace and scale of the action needed to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. In Calgary, climate change is increasing the frequency and severity of climate hazards, creating risks for residents, and fundamentally changing the way we live, work and play. In this session, City of Calgary staff will discuss how climate change will impact Calgary’s communities, tools to help residents adapt to climate change, and how residents can do their part in reducing our greenhouse gas emissions to help meet our 2050 objectives.
