     7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Note: This is an event hosted by our friends from Heritage Trades Roundtable. All Calgary communities are welcome to attend this free event.

Event Details
Ever walked along Calgary’s historic main streets and admired the sandstone cornices on the commercial buildings? You may be surprised to learn many are sand-painted pressed metal! Tinsmiths and metal workers crafted essential components for our city’s buildings, from windows and roofs, to radiators and cast iron tubs, to steel skeletons.

Join us February 7th for a free evening of learning and networking at our 5th Heritage Trades Roundtable. Meet some of the people who preserve and maintain the buildings and structures we love.

Presentations
Early Calgary metal workers & manufacturing plants – Marilyn Williams, Heritage Management Consultant
Man, Metal and Time – Japheth Howard, Blacksmith, Canadian Museum of Making
Historic Metal Conservation in Calgary & Alberta – Stefan Cieslik, Heritage Conservation Adviser

There will be an opportunity for discussion, and time before and after the talks to enjoy refreshments and grow your heritage network.
