Council recently approved the recommended short-, medium- and long-term plans for Crowchild Trail. Funding for the short-term recommendations was approved by Council in April.
The City will be connecting with property owners and businesses that are impacted by the medium-term plan over the next few weeks to provide an update and more information on the future property acquisition process.
An implementation and construction plan for the projects listed in the short-term plan is also being developed. Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2017 and take approximately three years to complete. Traffic and pathway detours, as well as some temporary road closures, are expected during the 2018 and 2019 construction seasons. There are no anticipated impacts to private properties in the short-term plan.
