The City of Calgary’s Corporate Approvals Team is hosting an expo style forum “Building our City Together” on February 22nd 2017 at the Municipal Building. The purpose of this forum is to educate and inform those involved in the approvals process (City staff, Industry, community partners) regarding City and Industry initiatives currently underway that may have an impact on how we plan and approve future development.
There will be tables set up throughout the atrium to showcase current policy work, process improvement initiatives and other City led projects. BILD Calgary Region has been invited to participate at a table where selected industry members will speak to their experiences as a customer (builder, renovator, trade, consultant). As we contemplate the future of development in Calgary, it’s important to understand the various business imperatives and other considerations that are critical to the development industry. The Federation of Calgary Communities will also be on hand to provide their perspective on City building and how all parties can collaborate towards improved outcomes.
We are pleased to welcome City Manager Jeff Fielding, BILD Calgary Region CEO Guy Huntingford and Federation of Calgary Communities Executive Director Leslie Evans for a lunch hour panel discussion, exploring the idea of “Building our City Together”.
As part of the Expo, we have created a unique opportunity for attendees to join us for a mix and mingle at the Bank and Baron following the close of the event. Get to know your Corporate Approvals Team, talk about some of the work currently underway or just put some names to faces in a fun and relaxed atmosphere!
There is no formal registration for this event. It is an open house format and we encourage all those interested to attend, whether that is for the entire forum or just one part of the program.
