Scenic Acres is located in Calgary’s northwest, south of Crowchild Trail and West of Nose Hill Drive NW, only 14km from the city center. The Scenic Acres area was annexed by the city in several stages beginning in the 1960s. The community’s name is a result of the panoramic views throughout the area. The Bow Valley corridor, the Paskapoo Slopes and the Rocky Mountains are all visible throughout the community. There are also numerous open fields and green spaces in the area which facilitate community recreational and sporting activities. There are both public and separate elementary schools in the community, as well as a day care, dental office, medical clinic and pharmacy Scenic Acres offers quick access to the city’s pathways, public transportation via the Crowfoot LRT Station, as well the Crowfoot shopping centre with its numerous attractions, shops and restaurants, which is a short 5 minute walk away.

The Scenic Acres Community Association (SACA) is very active. They welcome community feedback in order to improve the Facilities, Programs, Events and Services they offer. These include Line Dancing, numerous Yoga classes, Zumba classes, Girl Guides, Scouts, and a wide variety of sports programs for children, youth and adults. To promote community spirit the association also hosts numerous community events such as a Family Day Skate, Bubble Gum Boogie Dances, Parade of Garage Sales, Stampede Breakfast, Picnic in the Park & Outdoor Movie, Christmas Craft Sale, Spring Fling/Christmas Shopping Extravaganza and Breakfast with Santa. In addition, the centre is host to numerous weddings, parties and family reunions throughout the year. SACA is constantly looking expand services to better meet the needs of residents, and continually welcomes community input and feedback.
