Community Association Boundaries

North: 90 Avenue
East: 24 Street
South: Open Space between Oakridge Way and Cedarville Way / Southland Drive
West: Oakmount Drive*
City Quadrant: SW

*Using Oakmount Drive as the west boundary would mean that residents on Oakmount Court and Oakridge Way are not represented.  The Tsuu T’ina Reserve border would make a better boundary.

Community Description

The community of Oakridge is located on the southwest edge of the City directly south of the Glenmore Reservoir. The reservoir, with its extensive shoreline, is a significant visual feature and a recreational area. The boat docks, pathway, hiking trails in the Weaselhead Flats area, Glenmore Park and Heritage Park are some of the many recreational features found within the area. Heritage Park Historical Village, located on a peninsula of Glenmore Lake, is a major recreation attraction for tourists and Calgarians. Oakridge was under the jurisdiction of the Municipal District of Rockyview until it was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956. This predominantly single family residential neighbourhood developed during the 1970s.
