Community Description

go to top ^

Millrise is a suburban community located in the southwest sector of the City, to the south of 146 Avenue, between Macleod Trail and James McKevitt Rd. The land was annexed to the City in 1961 and an Area Structure Plan (Midnapore Phase II) was adopted by City Council in 1979. However, it was not until 1982 that Millrise began to develop as a predominantly single family residential community. The residents of this area enjoy close proximity to major transportation routes, and to Fish Creek Provincial Park and its associated facilities. The Light Rail Transit (L.R.T) now goes through Millrise to Sommerset.
