Alex Munro Labyrinth and Pathway Project

Alex Munro Labyrinth and Pathway Project

The Alex Munro School installed a Labyrinth in its schoolyard to encourage students and neighbours to enjoy friendships and nature. This project was completed in March of 2019, and the organizers say the Labyrinth provides many benefits. According to the organizers, some of the benefits are promoting stewardship, personal responsibility, and gratitude for the schoolhouse. This project also allows the school to honour the man it is named after: Mr. Alex Munro. Mr. Munro was the City’s first appointed gardener post World War II.

This beautiful project offers so much to the Alex Munro School. The ActivateYYC funds were used to purchase fencing to surround the Labyrinth.
