One Simple Act

It’s easy to be environmentally friendly. In fact, it’s simple.

The choices we make at home, at work and at school all add up to make a big difference. Together we can have a big impact on Alberta’s environment.
In collaboration with industry, government and community stakeholders, Calgary Economic Development has launched 'Behind the Scenes', a film friendly initiative designed to establish open communication with the public and generate support for the local film and television industry. This program will help our local screen industries to strengthen their ties with the community and provide residents with a better understanding of their trade and how it benefits Calgary as a whole. The mission of the Block Parent Program is to provide immediate assistance through a safety network and to offer supportive community education programs.
Block Watch is a community based program in partnership with the Calgary Police Service. The Council functions as the umbrella Block Watch organization in the City of Calgary and as a resource to community Block Watch Associations to help them develop and implement effective Block Watch programs.
Since 1939, Boys and Girls Club Community Services has been offering a multitude of vital programs in more than 80 Calgary communities that address serious issues that impact our children. Last year alone, Boys and Girls Club Community Services served more than 25,000 children, youth and families in the City of Calgary
The Community Mediation Calgary Society is a non-profit organization of volunteers available to assist in revolving conflicts between neighbours, and within community and non-profit organizations.
  • Crime Stoppers is a citizen, media and police co-operative program designed to involve the public in the fight against crime.
  • Crime Stoppers provides citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime or potential crime of which they have knowledge.
  • Cash rewards are offered to people who call the program and their information leads to an arrest and charge.
