The easiest way to join your community association is to purchase a membership. This can be done by simply contacting your neighbourhood's community association. For the most part joining your community association's board can be a rewarding experience. You will learn first hand how community events are run, what the community's role in planning and development issues and how they have the power to shape the neighbourhood you live in and the benefits they add to peoples lives everyday.
From stampede breakfasts to jellybean dances to neighbourhood wide scavenger hunts, community associations put on great events for the people that live in their communities. Getting involved and helping out with these events are great ways to connect with neighbours, meet new people and become a bigger part of your neighbourhood.
Some community associations offer special programs. This could be anything from child care, sports programs, seniors programs, neighbourhood safety, etc. These programs are great ways to get involved as a volunteer or as a participant. Contact your neighbourhood's community association for more information.
